ServiceVisit publishes guides, how-tos, checklists, templates, calculators, comparisons and a glossary for people who run service businesses. This page explains what you can expect from them.
Who publishes this content
Everything in the Resource Center is published by ServiceVisit Technologies, LLC. Articles are credited to the ServiceVisit Team rather than to an individual, because the company, not one writer, is accountable for what appears under its name. If something is wrong, the corrections process below goes to the company.
What we aim for
- Practical. Content is written for owners, office staff and technicians at small and growing service businesses, in plain language.
- Defined terms. A term is explained where it is used, and the glossary gives the definition we rely on.
- Shown working. A number is accompanied by how it was reached. Each calculator states its formula and the assumptions it makes, so you can check the result against your own figures.
- No invented evidence. We do not publish made-up statistics, quotes, customer results or credentials. If we do not have a source for a figure, we do not state it as fact.
- Honest about our own product. ServiceVisit makes field service management software, and some pages mention it where it is relevant. Guides are written to be useful whether or not you use ServiceVisit.
What our content is not
Our guides and templates are general information, not legal, tax, accounting or licensing advice. Requirements differ by trade, state and locality. Check the rules that apply to your business, and have a qualified professional review any contract or template before you rely on it.
Dates
Each article shows the date it was first published and, where it has changed in a meaningful way, the date it was last updated. Material that depends on regulation or pricing is the most likely to go out of date, so treat the date as part of the answer.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help draft and edit some content. ServiceVisit remains responsible for everything it publishes, and AI-assisted text is held to the same standards as any other page on this site.
Corrections
If you find an error, an out-of-date statement or something unclear, email hello@servicevisit.com with the page address and what should change. We review every request. When we correct a factual error we fix the page and update its date, and for a significant correction we say so on the page.
