My Day, Quick Actions and Business Pulse on Home

Beside the Needs attention list, Home has three other areas: My day, Quick actions and Business pulse. My day is your own schedule for today. Quick actions are one-click shortcuts. Business pulse is a short summary for people who run the business. This guide covers each and which roles see what.

Before you start

My day uses the jobs your role can see, either your assigned jobs or all jobs. Quick actions and Business pulse are built from your role's permissions, so two people on the same account can see different shortcuts. Home itself is on every plan.

Steps

  1. In My day, read today's items in time order. Each row shows the start time (or "Today" when no time is set), the title, the customer and location, and a status label: In progress, Ready to start, Waiting for approval or Assessment. In-progress items are highlighted.
  2. Choose a row to open its work order, or for an assessment, its job.
  3. On a Ready to start row, choose Start work to begin immediately. It opens the work order afterwards. The button is not offered while the work order is still awaiting customer authorization. If the start fails, you see "That work order could not be started. Refresh and try again."
  4. Use Track time in the panel header to open My Day time tracking, and View schedule to open your schedule.
  5. In Quick actions, choose a tile. Everyone gets View my jobs ("See assigned and active work"). Others depend on permissions:
    • Track time ("Review and add your time"), if your role can track time.
    • Approve time ("Review pending timesheets"), if your role can approve time.
    • Create job ("Start a new customer request"), if your role can create jobs. It opens the new-job form without leaving Home.
    • Open schedule ("Review today and upcoming work"), if your role can view the schedule.
    • Tasks ("Review your tasks and follow-ups"), if your role can view tasks. It opens your tasks.
  6. In Business pulse, read the line "N jobs need an owner" (or "All current jobs have an owner."). This appears for roles that can manage dispatch. The panel can also hold links:
    • Dispatch ("Review scheduled visits needing assignment and the team board"), for dispatch managers.
    • Invoices ("Review collection and invoice work"), for roles that can see the provider-wide invoice list.
    • Reports ("Review business performance"), for roles that can view reports.
  7. If your role can view reports, Open insights appears at the top of Business pulse.

Tips

A technician usually sees a short My day, a few quick actions and no Business pulse. An owner who also works jobs sees all three, which is why Home is built from permissions rather than fixed job titles. If you hold more than one role, you see the combined set.

If something goes wrong

If My day says "No assigned work is scheduled for today.", nothing is assigned to you; ask a dispatcher or check View my jobs. If it says "Today’s work is temporarily unavailable. Retry before making scheduling decisions.", refresh the page. If Business pulse shows "Assignment queue unavailable" with "Retry before relying on assignment status.", reload before relying on the count. A missing shortcut means your role does not include that permission; ask whoever manages team access.
