Signing to Accept a Service Proposal

To accept a service proposal you sign it. You type your name and draw your signature, and both are required. This guide walks through the signing step, explains how it works when you open a proposal from an emailed link, and covers declining instead.

Before you start

Open the proposal and read it through first: the services, the price, the dates, the payment arrangement and the agreement. See the guide on accepting a plan or package proposal for what each section shows. You can open a proposal from Service proposals in your account, or from the link in the email your provider sent.

Steps

  1. At the bottom of the proposal, under Respond to this proposal, select Accept proposal.
  2. A window titled Sign to accept this proposal opens. It explains that by signing you accept these exact services, price, dates and agreement version, and that your signature, your name and the time are recorded with the proposal.
  3. Type your full name in Your name.
  4. Draw your signature in the box with your mouse or finger. Select Clear to start again.
  5. Select Sign and accept. The button reads "Recording your acceptance…" while it works.
  6. The page confirms your acceptance. For a service plan it says your enrollment was created and that each cycle's service eligibility follows the accepted payment terms. For a package it says payment and provider activation are separate next steps.

To back out, select Cancel or the close mark in the corner of the window. Nothing is recorded until you select Sign and accept.

To decline instead, type an optional Note to the provider (up to 1,000 characters) and select Decline proposal, then confirm Decline proposal in the box that asks "Decline proposal?". Declining closes the proposal, and you can contact the provider about a different option.

Tips

  • You can respond from the emailed link without an account. The page offers sign in and create an account links so this and future proposals stay in one place.
  • Signing records the exact proposal and agreement version you were shown, so the terms you read are the terms that apply.
  • You can only respond while the proposal shows as ready for review. Once it is accepted, declined, expired, withdrawn, being updated or replaced, the buttons are not shown.

If something goes wrong

  • If you see "Please draw your signature before submitting.", the signature box was empty. Draw in it and select Sign and accept again.
  • If you see "Please type your name and draw your signature to accept.", one of the two is missing.
  • If you see "This proposal changed before your response was recorded. Review its current status and try again.", the provider updated it while you were reading. Reopen it and review the current version.
  • If the page says your provider needs to update the proposal, or has replaced it, wait for the updated proposal or open the replacement.
  • If you see "We could not record your acceptance. Please try again.", try once more. If it keeps failing, contact your provider or open a ticket from Support.
