Finding Answers in Help
The Support section includes a library of help articles written by ServiceVisit. Searching or browsing it is usually the fastest way to get an answer, and when it is not enough you can open a ticket from the same page. This guide shows how to find articles and how to move on to a ticket.
Before you start
Support is available to every signed-in user on every plan. Which articles you see depends on the library ServiceVisit has published for providers. If the library is empty, the page says "No help articles yet" and offers New ticket.
Steps
- Choose Support in the main menu. The page subtitle reads "Find an answer, or open a ticket with the ServiceVisit team." You can also choose Contact Support from the account menu.
- To search, type in the Search help articles box and select Search. The results page counts the matching articles, for example "3 articles match", and each result shows its topic, title and a short summary.
- To browse instead, use Browse by topic. Each card shows a topic name, how many articles it holds, and the titles of the first few articles. Select a card to see every article in that topic.
- Select an article title to read it. At the top, a breadcrumb reads Help, then the topic name, then the article title; select Help or the topic name to go back. The line under the title lists the plans the article applies to.
- At the bottom of an article, Related articles lists others on the same subject, and All followed by the topic name returns to the full topic list.
- If nothing answers your question, select New ticket. It appears at the top of every help page, and again under "Didn't find your answer?" at the bottom. View my tickets takes you to your list of tickets.
Tips
- Search with the words you would use for the task, such as "invoice reminder", not the name of a screen. If a search finds nothing, the page says no articles match your words and invites you to try different words or open a ticket.
- The search runs only when you select Search or press Enter.
- When you start a ticket, the form suggests articles as you type. You do not need to search first, but it can save you the wait.
- Articles are written in numbered steps with the exact names of buttons and menu items, so you can follow along with another tab open.
If something goes wrong
If an article you expect is missing, it may not apply to your plan or may not be published for providers yet; open a ticket and ask. If the page shows "No articles match" followed by your words, shorten the search to one or two key words. If Browse by topic does not appear, you are on a search results page; clear the search box and select Search to return to the topic list.
