AI Transparency Policy
Effective date: June 25, 2026 Last updated: June 25, 2026
ServiceVisit Technologies, LLC ("ServiceVisit," "we," "us," or "our") uses artificial intelligence to assist people who use our websites, web and mobile applications, and related services (the "Platform"). This policy explains, in plain terms, how AI is used, what it does and does not do, how data may be processed, and the responsibilities of the people who use it. It supplements our Privacy Policy and should be read together with it.
1. Meet Walter
AI on the Platform is provided through Walter, ServiceVisit's branded AI assistant. Walter is designed to help across the Platform — for example, by summarizing work and service history, helping draft communications, suggesting relevant information, organizing field notes, and surfacing helpful context. Walter is introduced progressively, and the specific AI-assisted features available to you depend on your role and your subscription.
2. Walter assists — it does not replace professional judgment
Walter is an assistant. It supports the people using the Platform; it does not make decisions on their behalf and is not a substitute for professional, technical, legal, financial, or other expert judgment. By design:
- A person remains in control. Service Providers review AI-assisted content before it is sent to a customer, and people remain responsible for the actions they take.
- Walter is advisory and read-only for sensitive operations. It does not finalize service records or attestations, does not set or override pricing, and does not execute workflow decisions on its own — those remain with the responsible person.
- If Walter is unavailable, the Platform is designed to continue without it; your work is not blocked by AI being offline.
3. AI-generated information may be inaccurate
AI systems, including Walter, can produce information that is incomplete, out of date, or incorrect, and can occasionally generate plausible-sounding but inaccurate content. You should not rely on AI-generated output as a sole source of truth. Always review AI-assisted content before relying on or sending it, and apply your own judgment. You remain responsible for the decisions you make and the content you send, accept, or act upon, even where Walter assisted in preparing it.
4. How your data may be processed by AI (high level)
When Walter assists with a task, relevant information for that task may be processed by AI. We design this processing to be limited and purposeful:
- Purpose-scoped context. Walter is provided with the information needed for the specific task (for example, details of a work order, service history for a property, or a message thread), drawn from your data on the Platform.
- Redaction of personal information. Before content is sent to an AI model provider, we apply automated redaction designed to remove or mask direct personal identifiers (such as names, email addresses, and phone numbers) from the material processed by the model.
- Limited retention. We design Walter to retain AI interaction records and generated outputs only for limited, defined periods, and we do not retain the raw assembled context as a stored record. Our general data-handling and retention practices are described in the Privacy Policy.
- Grounding in your data. Some features use search over your own service history to provide relevant context. This processing is scoped to your organization's data.
Model providers
Walter relies on established AI model providers to run its models, including Microsoft Azure (Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Foundry) and, for certain advanced tasks, Anthropic. Some on-device assistance on mobile may run locally without sending data to an external provider. These providers act as our service providers and are addressed in our Subprocessor Policy. We do not permit Platform customer data to be used to train third-party providers' foundation models other than as needed to deliver the service.
5. Disclosure and your choices
Where Walter helps generate content that is shown or sent to a customer, we aim to disclose that AI was involved, and a person reviews that content before it is sent. Where supported, customers can ask to speak with a person and can opt out of AI-assisted interactions through their communication preferences. Some internal, non-customer-facing uses (such as classifying or routing a message) may continue in order to operate the Platform.
6. What Walter will not do
Walter is designed not to:
- provide medical, legal, or financial advice, or make binding commitments (such as final pricing, warranty terms, or scheduling guarantees) on behalf of a Service Provider;
- finalize or alter service records or attestations, or determine their trust or verification status;
- send messages on its own without a responsible person's involvement; or
- bypass consent, suppression, or disclosure settings.
7. Responsibilities
- Service Providers are responsible for reviewing AI-assisted content before sending it, for the accuracy and legality of what they send, and for obtaining any required customer consent (for example, for SMS or email). Providers should not rely on Walter for decisions that require professional licensure or judgment.
- Homeowners and customers should review AI-assisted information they receive and should not treat it as professional advice or a guarantee. You remain responsible for decisions you make based on it.
8. Changes to this policy
As our AI capabilities evolve, we may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Platform or by other reasonable means. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
