Edit a Draft Estimate

Editing lets you change a draft estimate before the customer sees it. On the Edit Estimate page you can update its line items (including whether each one is taxable), the discount amount, the Valid until date and the notes, so the quote reflects exactly what you intend to offer. Sales tax is calculated from the service address when the estimate is saved.

Only drafts can be edited this way. Once an estimate has been sent it is no longer changed in place. Instead you create a revision, which keeps the earlier version on record and starts a fresh draft you can edit and send on its own.

Editing sits between creating an estimate and sending it. A typical sequence is to create the draft, refine it until you are satisfied, and then send it for the customer to decide on.
