Override a Line Item Price

Normally a work order line takes its price from the pricebook item it was built from. Overriding the price lets you charge a different amount for that line when the job calls for it.

Without an override, the original price on the line must match the pricebook item, and a line whose price does not match is refused. With an override, the line keeps the original pricebook price alongside the price you set, so the departure from the pricebook stays visible and records that it was overridden.

On a work order, enter the amount in Override Unit Price and tick Allow price override when adding the pricebook item. Use this when a negotiated or one-off price applies. It sits within the work order, before the charge flows onto the invoice, and it is a separate action from adding or editing lines.
