Cancel a Work Order

ServiceVisit lets you cancel a Work Order, the single technician assignment under a Job, when that piece of work will not go ahead. On the Work Order page, choose Cancel Work Order and confirm the prompt, which says the cancellation cannot be undone. The button is offered while the Work Order is still open: Draft, Scheduled, Assigned, In Progress, On Hold, or waiting on the customer, materials or an inspection. It is the same permission that lets you edit a Work Order. When a Work Order is cancelled, anyone still on the clock for it is stopped along with it.

Cancelling a Work Order is narrower than cancelling a Job. The Work Order is one assignment, while the Job is the customer's whole request. If the customer no longer wants the work at all, cancel the Job instead.
