Managing Your Providers and Saved Cards

The My Providers page lists every provider you are connected to. For each one you can send a service request, start a message, see your service activity, manage the cards that provider has saved, or end the relationship. This guide covers those actions.

Before you start

Sign in to your customer account and connect to at least one provider. If you have not, see the guide on connecting your account.

Steps

  1. Open My Providers in the left menu. Each provider shows its status (Active, Pending or Revoked), how the relationship started, and the date it was added. Use Filter by Status and Apply Filter to narrow the list, or Clear to reset it.
  2. Select Manage beside a provider to open Provider Relationship.
  3. For an active relationship, select Request Service to ask for work, or Message to open a conversation with that provider.
  4. Under Service Activity, see Completed Jobs, In Progress, Pending Estimates and Total Spent, then Your Service Requests with the status of each.
  5. Under Your Cards on File, see the cards that provider has saved for you. Each shows its brand, last four digits and expiry date. A card marked Charged first is the one the provider tries first, and one marked Expired is past its expiry month.
  6. To change a card, select Replace, add the new card in the secure form on Replace your card, and confirm. If the card backs an automatic payment plan, the plan carries on with the new card.
  7. To stop a provider using a card, select Remove, then Remove card in the confirmation. Choose Keep card to cancel.
  8. To end the relationship, select Revoke This Relationship, add an optional reason and select Confirm Revocation.

Tips

  • Each provider stores cards with its own payment processor, so the list on one provider covers that provider only.
  • Each card shows how it was authorized: by you, with your in-person signature, or recorded by the provider. Where the provider recorded it, the page states that ServiceVisit did not verify the authorization.
  • You cannot add a card or choose which card is charged first from this page. Adding a card is the provider's action.
  • If you hold credit with a provider, the page shows the balance with a link to View history and options.

What revoking does

Revoking removes the provider's ability to message you, send quotes, estimates and maintenance plans through ServiceVisit. It does not stop them contacting you outside the platform, and records of work they already did are kept.

If something goes wrong

  • If you see We could not load your cards on file just now, try again shortly. It does not mean you have no cards.
  • If a provider shows No cards on file, that provider has not saved a card for you.
  • If the page says a provider cannot accept card details right now, their payment setup is not active. You can still remove the card they hold.
  • Removing a card that backs an automatic payment plan stops the automatic payments. What you owe does not change, and you are reminded when each installment is due. Use Replace to keep automatic payments going.
