Connecting Your Account to a Service Provider

When a service provider invites you to ServiceVisit, they send you a claim code. Entering that code links your account to the provider, so their invoices, estimates and messages appear when you sign in. This guide explains how to connect and what you find in your account afterwards.

Before you start

  • Sign in to your customer account.
  • Have your claim code ready. It is in the email or link your provider sent you, and it is up to 12 characters long. Spaces and hyphens are removed for you, and letters are changed to capitals.
  • If the invitation was sent to an email address that is not yet on your ServiceVisit account, you will be asked whether to add it. Adding it does not change the address you use to sign in.

Steps

  1. Open Invoices in the left menu and select Claim Invoice. If you have no invoices yet, select Claim Invoice with Code instead. Both open the Connect with Provider page.
  2. Type your code into Claim Code.
  3. Select Connect Account.
  4. When the page says You're connected!, it names the provider and tells you how many of their invoices are now in your account. Select View My Invoices or Go to Dashboard.
  5. If the page asks Add this address to your account?, select Add and connect to confirm the invitation reached you, or Not now to leave without connecting.

You can also connect from My Providers: type the code into the box under Connect with a Provider and select Connect.

What you find in your account

The left menu lists what your account can do. The ones that relate to your providers are:

  • Dashboard, which shows a card for estimates awaiting your review once you have any.
  • Estimates, where you review and respond to estimates. See the guide on approving or declining an estimate online.
  • Invoices, where you view, download and pay invoices. See the guide on paying an invoice.
  • Plans & Packages and Service Proposals, where you review offers of ongoing service. See the guide on accepting a plan or package proposal.
  • My Credit, for money a provider holds for you.
  • My Providers, where you manage each relationship and the cards a provider has saved.
  • Messages, to chat with a provider.
  • Feedback, to rate completed work.
  • Support, to search help articles or open a ticket with the ServiceVisit team.

Other menu entries cover your properties and their records, and are described elsewhere.

Tips

  • Once you are connected, later invoices from that provider appear in your account automatically. You do not need a new code each time.
  • A code belongs to one invitation. If you have two providers, you will have two codes.
  • Use the filters on Estimates and Invoices to narrow the list by status.

If something goes wrong

  • If you see Please enter a claim code., the box was empty. Type the code and try again.
  • If the page reports that the code could not be used, check it for typing mistakes first. If it still fails, ask your provider to send a new one.
  • If Something went wrong. Please try again. appears, wait a moment and try again.
  • If you have no code, ask your provider to send you an invitation, or open a ticket from Support.
