Online Booking and Availability Overview
Online booking lets a customer choose one of your services, describe the work, give an address and contact details, and send you a request without calling. This guide explains the pieces, how they fit together, and where each one lives in the app. The other guides in this set cover each piece in detail.
Before you start
- Online booking is available on every plan. Each part is controlled by its own permission, so a person on your team may see some pages and not others.
- A customer can only book what you have published. Nothing is visible to customers until you offer a service online.
The pieces
- Services. Open Price Book, then Services. Each service carries a name, a one-line summary, a price, how long it takes, the kind of work, the task list a technician follows, and any trades a technician must hold. A service marked Bookable by customers appears to customers; one marked Staff only can still be scheduled by your team.
- Service groups. Open Price Book, then Service Groups. Groups put services under a heading and in an order on your booking page. They are optional.
- Booking link, QR code and website panel. Open Price Book, then Booking Link. This is how customers reach your catalog.
- Availability. Your locations, business hours and each technician's working days decide which times a customer can pick. This is optional and off until you turn it on for a location.
- Requests. Verified requests arrive under Inbox, then Marketplace Leads, where you approve them into jobs or decline them.
What the customer does
Using your link or QR code, the customer sees your services, picks one, and fills in a request form with a preferred date and time. Using the booking panel on your website, the customer works through steps inside the panel: the service, details about the job, a time, the address and contact details, a review, and a six-digit code sent to their email. The code proves the email address is theirs. Until it is entered, you cannot respond to the request.
When you have turned on customer-picked times for a location, the website panel shows a calendar of open dates and the arrival hours on each. Otherwise it asks for a preferred date and time and holds nothing on your calendar.
Tips
- Set up one service completely first and book it yourself as a test.
- A service that is not ready shows what is missing on its card, so you do not have to guess.
- Customers do not see why an hour is unavailable.
If something goes wrong
- If a customer says your services are missing, check that each one reads Bookable by customers.
- If the booking page says you have not published any services, none is offered online yet.
- If a customer says they never heard back, check Marketplace Leads. A request that shows Awaiting Verification is waiting for the customer to enter their code.
