Declare Your Own Availability

A technician can record their own working pattern in ServiceVisit: for each day of the week, whether they work and the hours they start and end. A day left unticked is recorded as a day they do not work, and each working day has to start before it ends. The My Availability page is built to be used from a phone in a few taps, because changes usually come up while someone is out in the field.

The same page records dated exceptions. A technician can mark a date as away all day, or as a day with different hours, and can add a reason. The reason is for the provider's team only and is never shown to a customer. Removing an exception puts the usual hours back on that date.

If a change leaves jobs that are already scheduled outside the declared hours, ServiceVisit shows which ones. It does not stop the change and it does not cancel anything, so someone can move the work afterwards. Dispatchers and administrators see these hours on the Team Availability page.
