Acceptable Use Policy

Effective date: June 25, 2026 Last updated: June 25, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes activities that are permitted and prohibited when using the ServiceVisit platform, including our websites, web and mobile applications, APIs, and related services (the "Platform"), operated by ServiceVisit Technologies, LLC ("ServiceVisit," "we," "us," or "our").

This AUP supplements, and is incorporated into, the Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms of Service. If there is a conflict between this AUP and the Terms of Service regarding acceptable use, this AUP controls. By using the Platform, you agree to this AUP and are responsible for the activity of anyone using the Platform through your account.

1. Who this applies to

This AUP applies to everyone who accesses or uses the Platform, including Homeowners, Service Providers, their authorized users and technicians, and any visitor to our public pages.

2. Permitted use

You may use the Platform for its intended purpose: to manage properties and their Digital Home Passport, document and review service history, discover and communicate with Service Providers or Homeowners, manage service operations, and use the features included in your subscription. You must use the Platform in compliance with this AUP, the Terms of Service, and applicable law.

3. Prohibited use

You agree not to do any of the following, and not to enable or permit others to do so.

3.1 Abuse, fraud, and harm

  • Engage in fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading activity, including misrepresenting your identity, your authority over a property, or your licensing, insurance, or qualifications.
  • Submit false, fabricated, or manipulated service records, reviews, ratings, or documentation.
  • Harass, threaten, defame, stalk, or harm any person, or post content that is unlawful, obscene, or abusive.

3.2 Unauthorized access and platform integrity

  • Access, or attempt to access, accounts, data, systems, or networks that you are not authorized to access, including other tenants' data.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Platform, or breach or circumvent any security, authentication, rate-limiting, or access-control measure, except as expressly permitted under our Responsible Disclosure Policy.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Platform, including denial-of-service activity or overloading infrastructure.

3.3 Malware and malicious content

  • Upload, transmit, or distribute viruses, malware, ransomware, or any code intended to disrupt, damage, disable, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data.
  • Upload files or content designed to execute in another user's browser or device without authorization (for example, scripts embedded in documents or images).

3.4 Scraping and automated access

  • Use any automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers, or similar) to access, harvest, or copy content or data from the Platform, except through interfaces we expressly provide for that purpose and in accordance with their documentation and limits.
  • Aggregate, resell, or redistribute Platform data without our authorization.

3.5 Spam and unsolicited communications

  • Send spam or unsolicited bulk or commercial messages through or using the Platform.
  • Use the Platform's communications features to send messages a recipient has not consented to receive, or in violation of anti-spam, telemarketing, or messaging laws (including consent requirements for SMS and email).

3.6 Intellectual property

  • Infringe the intellectual-property or proprietary rights of ServiceVisit or any third party.
  • Copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of the Platform, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by law. Reports of copyright infringement are handled under our Copyright / DMCA Policy.

3.7 Accounts and access

  • Share account credentials, or allow others to access the Platform under your account, except as the Platform expressly supports (for example, inviting authorized users or technicians to your organization).
  • Create accounts by automated means or under false pretenses, or maintain more accounts than permitted by your subscription.

3.8 API and resource usage

  • Exceed published or communicated rate limits, quotas, or usage allowances for APIs or other Platform resources, or take actions designed to evade them.
  • Use the Platform in a manner that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure.

4. Content responsibility

You are responsible for the content and data you submit and for ensuring you have the rights and any necessary consents to submit it. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy, and AI-assisted features are described in the AI Transparency Policy.

5. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations of this AUP. Where we reasonably believe a violation has occurred, or to protect the Platform, our users, or third parties, we may take any action we consider appropriate, including:

  • issuing a warning or requesting that you remediate the issue;
  • removing, disabling, or restricting access to content;
  • throttling, suspending, or limiting access to features, APIs, or the Platform;
  • suspending or terminating accounts; and
  • reporting activity to, and cooperating with, law enforcement or other authorities.

Where practical and not prohibited by law or by the need to protect the Platform or others, we will aim to give notice before taking action. We may act without prior notice where the violation is severe, ongoing, or poses a risk of harm.

6. Termination

Serious or repeated violations of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your account and access, as described in the Terms of Service. Termination does not limit any other rights or remedies available to us.

7. Reporting violations

To report abuse or a suspected violation of this AUP, contact us at abuse@servicevisit.com. To report a security vulnerability, please follow our Responsible Disclosure Policy.

8. Changes to this AUP

We may update this AUP from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Platform or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Platform after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.
