Manage the Inventory Catalog
ServiceVisit lets you build and maintain the catalog of items you track in inventory. You would use it when you start stocking a new part, tool or piece of equipment, or when the details of an existing item change.
Each catalog item has an internal SKU, a name, a kind, a unit of measure and, if you want one, a reference cost. You can also record a supplier SKU, a manufacturer, a category and a description, and mark an item as serialized so that tools and equipment are tracked one unit at a time. The catalog list can show inactive items as well as active ones.
When you no longer want to use an item, you deactivate it. It is then hidden from new movements, its history is kept and nothing is deleted.
The catalog is the starting point for the rest of inventory: the items you keep here are the ones you receive, move, reserve and count.
