Consume Stock on a Work Order

ServiceVisit lets you record parts used on a Work Order. You would use it when a technician has installed or used stock on the job, so your on-hand quantities go down by what was actually used.

On the Work Order's inventory page you choose the item, the location it came from and the quantity. The quantity must be greater than zero, and the location must have at least that much on hand or the request is refused. ServiceVisit reduces the on-hand balance, releases a matching amount of any reservation for that item at that location, and writes a Consume movement that points to the Work Order.

The page then shows how much of each item was reserved, consumed and returned for that Work Order. Reserving the parts first is optional, because consuming only needs enough stock on hand.
