Adjust Stock to a Counted Quantity

ServiceVisit lets you correct the on-hand quantity of an item at a location to match what you counted. You would use it when the shelf or the truck holds a different amount than the system shows.

You enter the item, the location and the counted quantity, and you can add a reason. If the count is for an earlier day you can enter the date it was counted, and if you leave it empty the adjustment is dated now. ServiceVisit works out the difference from the current on-hand figure and posts an Adjust movement for that difference. If the count matches, no movement is posted. The counted quantity cannot be negative.

You never edit a balance directly, so every correction appears in the ledger. This same action is used when a count is reconciled and when stock is loaded through an import.
