Uploading and Managing Property Documents
The Documents page, titled Property Documents, stores receipts, warranties, manuals, permits and photos for your properties. Each document is filed against one property in your Property Passport.
Before you start
Sign in to your customer account and claim at least one property. Without one, the page asks you to add or claim a property first.
Steps
- Open Documents in the left menu. To see one property's files, choose it in the property list and select Filter. Choose All Properties to see everything.
- Select Upload Document. If you have none yet, select Upload First Document.
- Choose the Property. It starts on the property you were filtering by.
- Optionally choose a Category: Receipt, Warranty, Manual, Permit, Photo or Other. The default is Uncategorized.
- Choose the File, then select Upload. The page reloads with the document in your list.
- To open a document, select View. It opens in a new tab.
- To remove one, select Delete, then confirm Delete in the Delete document? box.
Tips
- Accepted files are PDF, images (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, HEIF and GIF), plain text, CSV, Word documents and Excel spreadsheets. Each file can be up to 25 MB.
- Each document shows its file name, property, category, size and upload date.
- Deleting removes the document from your Property Passport and removes the stored file. It cannot be undone.
- You can also start an upload from a property's page with Upload Document.
If something goes wrong
- If you see "Choose a file to upload.", pick a file first.
- If you see "That file is larger than 25 MB.", use a smaller file.
- If the upload is refused because the file type is not allowed, convert it to one of the accepted types.
- If you see "Upload failed. Please try again.", try again shortly. Check your connection.
- If you see "Could not delete the document", it was not removed. Try again.
- If you see "Failed to load your documents. Please try again.", try again shortly. It does not mean your documents are gone.
