Recording DIY Maintenance in Your Property Passport
Use Record DIY Maintenance to log routine work you did yourself, such as changing a filter, cleaning gutters or inspecting a water heater. The entry joins your property's service history as a customer-entered DIY record. It is never certified.
Before you start
Sign in to your customer account and claim the property. The property needs at least one system, because every maintenance entry is recorded against a system.
Steps
- Open My Properties, select your property, then select Record Maintenance. You can also open the property's Service History, select Record Event, then Maintenance.
- Choose a Property System. This is required.
- Enter a Maintenance Title, up to 200 characters. This is required. For example, "Changed HVAC filter".
- Set the Date Performed. This is required and starts as the current date and time.
- Optionally add Maintenance Notes, up to 2000 characters, such as parts used or issues found. A counter shows how many characters you have used.
- Select Record Maintenance. You return to Service History and see "Maintenance recorded successfully!".
Tips
- The page lists common maintenance tasks for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing and appliances as ideas.
- The entry shows as Customer DIY on the timeline, with the event type Maintenance.
- To see only maintenance entries, open Maintenance Records in the left menu. It opens Service History filtered to the Maintenance event type.
- There are no edit or delete controls for maintenance entries. If you recorded the wrong details, add a corrected entry and describe the correction in the notes.
If something goes wrong
- If you see "Property not found or you don't have access", the property is not one you have claimed.
- If you see "You don't have permission to record maintenance for this property", claim the property first.
- If the Property System list is empty, record a system installation first.
- If a required field is missing or too long, the form lists what to correct and nothing is saved.
